A quick paint sketch using the paints left on my palette before packing it all up to travel back to Maine. Still paint left...I wonder if I have time for another...
The egret is stunning - but i've loved ALL the little studies you have been doing whilst in California, including those flowers you said you struggled with! The portrait of your dad I thought a joy. I hope that the preparation for the show is also joyful for you, and not stressful :) Looking forward to seeing the results.
Very good. I like the airiness of the feathers. The light to darker blue background, with the egret looking that diection, has a very pleasing effect. Nice job.
I saw this and forgot to come back and comment - it is quite nice. I love the whispiness of a snowy egrets plumage. And you have come close to capturing it.

I have noy been able to post on blogger fir a long time. Love the oil sketches. Sunsets +++
I really really like your oils. Very loose and free. I'm a bird lover and watcher and the egret is especially lovely. Mary Garrard
