Working and traveling a lot...sketching and painting not so much

A wonderful consulting job came my way around Christmas that I couldn't pass up. So since then, every week I am on plane to the Washington DC area where I spend 2 to 3 days on a creative rebranding project. I found Sophie sitting in my suitcase the first time I was packing for my new job, but when she found out that she would be going to the cottage on the beach in Cape Elizabeth she is now absolutely fine with my packing.

Winter travel in the east coast can be quite challenging. My flight to Portland was canceled last week because of snow. 18 inches in Portland so the airport was closed. I made it home a day later than planned. Such is life as a consultant.

I am working with a corporation that sells supplements through several catalogs. It is quite interesting to be learning more about the mysterious world of supplements.

I love that Sophie packed herself in your suitcase. Wonderful. Dogs are so smart (well, many of them areI. Mine is a German Shepherd, so the suitcase wouldn't work out for him; when I pack, though, he becomes even more vigilant than usual, sticking very close, hoping to be in on the trip. Even when I'm primping to go out for an evening he knows something's up and hopes to be included.

Sophie is just too cute and your paintings are as always very nice. My dog (Charlie, standard poodle) gets worried when I start packing and he will cry and give me the biggest sad puppy eyes I have ever seen. He loves to travel with us, especially when we go canoeing.

So much to say, and isn't it wonderful if your artwork enthuses people so much. Your technique is great, and your journalistic paintings when you are out and about capture moments in time. Love the colors you use and have been ogling your work on yupo, because that stuff requires me to wrestle it down. Really like 'cluster'. Going to try yupo again sometime for a project...and lastly am in love with the Weimaraner painting not only because it's good but also because it reminds me of my Weimie, Athena. Rock on.

Sophie is adorable and she reminds me so much of my last dog, not in looks, but in behavior. What a wonderful page that is! And re: Julian Whitaker, I LOVE Julian Whitaker!! He's awesome!

The sketch of Sophie made me laugh. Well done.

My husband's cat, Poe does the same thing to him. But he is more sneaky about it. I am always afraid he will stowaway. Wouldn't the TSA get a surprise if they search his bag? Poe, not the best natured of cats, would come out swinging.

These are great, Jennifer--love the painting of Sophie. Your work sounds somewhat similar to what my younger sister does. Hope you're enjoying it! Safe travels this time of year--I so "get" that!
