Sophie

This is Sophie who is clearly, the cutest dog on the planet. She is my best pal and makes me laugh, everyday. When she is really happy, back from a walk or showing off for guests, she grabs one of her many toys, gives it a good hard shake and then runs around the dining room table hoping that someone is running after her. It is amazing how many adults will do this.

It was snowing the other night so I was sitting by the fire sketching Soph. As you can imagine, being the cutest dog on the planet (see above), I have pages and pages of sketches of this dog, most of which I don't post—thank god. As usual her toys were strewn around the room and I started to look closely at what she has done to them in a short time.

This Meercat (I actually have no idea what this is) is not much of a stuffed toy anymore. The squeeker is long gone and so is most of the stuffing.

This snowman came home with her after we returned from Bali. The eyes are gone now and the hat will be the next to go. She works hard on that nose but it isn't budging.
The chicken is also a new addition. It's squeeker is still intact but makes no noise. There is not much more to say about it, but she loves it and sometimes I find it in my bed...

Oh she is a cutie, and my black lab and choc lab (males) would love to have her around I know. I think I have a similar collection of toys - they don't love them until they are de-stuffed, de-squeaked, and mutilated with saliva ! But she loves you enough to share them !

I really missed Sophie when you were in Bali!! Not as much as you did, I'm sure....but I loved this entry with the chewed up toys! Victor and Mia, who are the best dogs on the planet, do agree that Sophie is mighty cute!

Yup. She's the cutest dog on the planet. And she is lucky to have an adoring mom, and plenty of toys to destroy!

The "meerkat" is a coati mundi. I had 2 of these as pets. One was wonderful and the other was vicious. They both ended up in a zoo. Exotic pets are cute, but probably shouldn't be sold in pet stores! I should have had one like yours!

Awe! She is so cute! Your sketches of her toys totally cracked me up! See, my dog does not understand what toys are for. Apparently, they are not for chewing, throwing around and certainly they are not for fetching or retrieving in any manner! lol!

Oh Sophie is so cute, and I should know being a Besotted Little White Dog owner myself;) Snowy is now too old to kill stuffed toys but your sketches bring back memories of finding damp little 'corpses' in my bed.

It's so nice to know that my wrecking crew (Red Golden Retriever and Yellow Lab) aren't the only ones destroying toys. I no longer buy toys with the hard button eyes. I had to see too many eyeless toys that freaked me out. And we too wake up to toys, plastic bones, plastic soda bottles, and hubby's socks in bed.

LOVE THESE! These are great drawings, and they've alive with the combination of Soph's affection and your skills.
You've inspired me to try something similar with my girls' toys.
