I saw this fire hydrant on our Monday morning walk through the Old Port. I loved the turquoise and the yellow and who would not want to paint that shadow.
Hi, I know this is a very strange subject to have painted. I'm still scratching my head over the decision to do it. Hmmmmmm.
Lydia—It is painted in oils. Knitting Painter Woman— to my eye the colors are realistic... Mark—You crack me up, but just so you know, I will never stop.

What a beautiful hydrant. Love the colors you've used here.
what medium is it?
its great!
Great colors, indeed. Are they relatively realistic, or did you shift them? Artful composition.
Lovely!!
Strong, bold and urban...great use of color!
Your work never ceases to amaze me. Don't ever stop or we'll all have to come over and pummel you (in a nice way, of course).

I adore your fire hydrant - now I want to paint one! I feel so unoriginal...
This is a beautiful fire hydrant...love the bright yellow...the shadow...the perspective ...awesome job
Beautiful color combination. Your work is so graceful and full of class, if it makes sense to describe artwork in that manner.
beautiful in its simplicity - and a great (and humorous) companion for your Sophie shadow sketch
