Every Day in May—EDM #112 something fresh

I love avocados and in California they grow in abundance. Growing up they were always a part of meals—salads, sandwiches and guacamole. Our favorite way to eat them was when my grandmother would cut avocados in half, leave the skin on, cut out the pit and fill the hole with her homemade vinegrette. It was like a bowl of avocado deliciousness eaten with a spoon.

I just found your site and I LOVE your commitment to try and paint everyday. Your pictures are great I love how nothing is off limits as a subject matter. You're very encouraging. Now, I'm going to see if I can try that great idea, maybe it's just what I need to get the creative juices flowing..

Wonderful blog, Pam

I remember my dad paying $1 for a grocery sack of avocados that were better than the current Haas variety. We'd fill the cavity with ketchup. I still eat them with ketchup if they aren't in a salad with other veggies. Nice sketch.

Avocados with ketchup--wow--I've not tried that.
