Maruman X "A Taste of Home"

This is the view from our home in Portland, Maine. Over the rooftops we can see the comings and goings in Portland Harbor. This is peak of the 10 pages I did in Anita Davies' Maruman titled "A taste of Home".  At this point Anita, Margaret and Nina had all filled their pages and I was left with wrestling this very long folded sketch book onto my desk to tackle my pages. I must admit it tumbled to the ground several times. You can see the progression of these sketch books at the Maruman X blog HERE.

I love your paintings and your sketch book. Allowing us to travel along with you.
I too live in Maine- only I'm here year-round. We are having another snowy day here.
I'm searching for a watercolor-journaling workshop- if you know of one-would love to hear about it!

I love how the view subverts expectations of space; and the colors in the bottom one especially appeal to me.
I always think the views from my windows--my unkempt yard and neighbors' sheds--are particularly unnoteworthy, but perhaps that's just why I should try to make something of them!

Jennifer -- really beautiful expressions. Your work has certainly benefited from the Bali experience. Really sensation - love the Roosters!

On a separate note! We really enjoyed see you both the other night and hope we can do so again before you head back.

The Dylan book is "Bob Dylan The Drawn Blank Series" Prestel is the publisher and Ingrid Mossinger and Krestin Drechsel are the interview/editors.
