From our deck we can see the sun come up over the Casco Bay, so I can sneak in a bit of orange. This is a very quick sketch looking east yesterday morning.
EDM #253 Draw your socks. Now that we are back in Maine I have dug out the hats, gloves and boots. Digging through the sock drawer I found these fleece socks. I curled up in front of the fire with Sophie and sketched these.

It IS hard to get the body used to a radically different temperature! You use the cold colors as magnificently as the tropical ones, though...gorgeous!
I have some fleecy socks like that, only mine are Norwegian looking! (I also have a wonderful pair of fleece slipper boots...NICE.)
Welcome home, Jen!
Love your fleece socks! Perfect for cold wintry nights! But it's a shame you couldn't have remained in Bali until spring at least. The cold must be a terrible shock to your body!
But I love your painting of the cold Maine coast!
Your palette may have changed...but your artistic eye is as good as ever...Snuggle in and rest...:)
All lovely - and I can relate to the socks!!!
I love this jostling of senses keeping your eye alert. Wonderful freshness in your coastline views, alive with life against the gray.
You do great work wherever you are!
Beautiful little paintings, especially the first one. My husband is from Maine and always talks about how cold the winters are!!
Enjoy your paintings from any part of the world. I was wondering how you would adjust to the extreme temperature changes. Take care.
Welcome back to winter! No matter the palette your watercolors sing!
