A road trip to Georgetown Maine

Sophie and I took the opportunity to get out of the city and enjoy a few days with friends at their beautiful home up the coast from Portland in Georetown Maine.

The front yard of my friend's house are these wonderful rocks and tide pools, crashing surf and open ocean as far as the eye can see. Their house is actually bolted to the rocks.

Lobster boats on my way to Georgetown, Maine.

  1. I can almost feel the ocean spray and smell the sea. I'm amazed those little shacks on the dock are still standing.

  2. You live in such an excellent part of the country. Winslow Homer country (I am an enormous fan). Your drawings, sketches and paintings are beautiful and I feel that I'm living up there vicariously (virtually?) through you.

  3. I want to draw like you when I grow up. These are wonderful drawings! Are you using pen, ink, & watercolors? And are you also drawing in a moleskine? I love your work!

  14. Gosh -- I wish I could do that! The economy of line, the wash of color, and there you have the whole idea, beautifully articulated!
