This North Atlantic Cod Fish is a favorite up here in New England. I, however, have been told by my friend Jerry "the Fish Guy" that the head is not quite right. So, I am going to try again.
I think when someone says something is not right in one of your drawings or paintings you are supposed to say "thank you" because you don't want it to look like a photo do you?
That's a damn fine lookin' fish if you ask me - what does "The Fish Guy" know anyway?? lol! Seriously tho, I love the simple graphic quality to this one. The way the lines radiate around the head, the dots, the simple wash, the symmetry - it's a really nice fish.
Well, head right or not, I think your fish is stunning, it is such a great drawing!
ReplyDeleteBecause it is THE fish of New England...thats why you chose it and it is an elegant fish in its tans and browns...great job
ReplyDeleteLovely drawing/painting!
ReplyDeleteAnd tell Jerry the fish guy to quit complaining and clean the fish for supper. After all, as the saying goes, cleanliness is next to codliness... ;-)
He looks great!

ReplyDeleteIt is a great drawing, lovely colours.
ReplyDeleteYou did an excellent job on this fish. Aren't fish fun to draw?
ReplyDeleteIt's exquisite! The colors especially, I think really sing. Well, if fish could sing that is.
